Call for Speaker Proposals - InVigorateU 2023

Illinois Green Industry Association is looking for dynamic, experienced speakers to present education sessions at our premier education conference in Bloomington, IL.  Each year, we gather in mid-January for two days of networking, brainstorming solutions to problems faced this season, and dreaming about how we might do things a little differently next year.  We also have a lot of fun!  This is not your typical industry event.  Yes, we do offer exhibitor opportunities and the chance to strengthen relationships with our supplier partners, but this is not a large trade show.  This is a more intimate gathering, with an average annual attendance of 275, which affords the chance for you to spend time with friends and make new connections.

What Does the Education Look Like?

Day one is devoted to the element that unites all diverse segments of our industry – Plants! We bring in experts from across the country, but also from botanic gardens and arboreta in the midwest, to inform us on research findings, what's trending with consumers, and what's working in the landscape, and more.  On day two, we get in the weeds with tracks specific to our attendees' professional needs and interests. We offer sessions for growers, retailers, irrigation contractors, and help with sales and marketing.  Attendee surveys from years past, along with input and ideas from our committees, help us to determine what the plants day and breakout sessions should look like.  The InVigorateU committee plays an important role in shaping the agenda for the event.

Call for Proposals

• Suggested presentation formats include lecture, panel discussion, research findings, case studies, and hands-on training sessions.
• Each session will be approximately one hour long and should include time for audience questions.
• Your presentation must be tailored to the audience you intend to address and your content should be focused on current and emerging trends in the industry.
• We will provide the necessary audio/visual tools including a laptop, LCD projector, remote slide advancer, and wireless mic for your session(s).
• This is an in-person conference so we highly desire your session to be presented in person.  However, there are circumstances where we may consider remote presenting (Ex: where travel may be cost-prohibitive).
