InVigorateU 2021

In January, we concluded InVigorateU on a high note, eager to implement ideas and feedback received from each of you at next year's event. Our conference theme was to be intentional about connections made during our time together. Immediately following the event, IGIA staff and the event committee began planning ways to build on the momentum gained. But in March, everything changed.

Our team has carefully monitored the guidance for gatherings, and we've asked you to offer feedback on what you feel comfortable doing at this stage. We really appreciate your input!  What we've heard is that while some you are eager to get together again, it must be done safely and in smaller numbers. Others are not ready to get together in-person, so we will continue to make virtual learning options available for you when possible.

Many variables had to be carefully considered about how we could effectively deliver InVigorateU in a way that would meet the needs of everyone involved. The IGIA Board of Directors has decided that we will not host the event in 2021. We will offer smaller one-day workshops that will allow the industry segments we serve to gather safely, as long as public health guidelines allow us to do so.  However, the two-day InVigorateU experience, where we all gather in Bloomington-Normal, will not happen in January 2021. We look forward to the other opportunities we'll have to safely connect with you in 2021. Until that time, don't hesitate to contact IGIA staff or the Board of Directors with questions

About the Event

InVigorateU is an annual event that not only provides great speakers and continuing education credits, but also offers a chance to take time away from your crazy schedule to focus on what worked last year and what you might want to do different this year.

room 1

Day one is devoted to the element that unites all diverse segments of our industry – Plants! We love them and we seek to do better by them. Join your peers and industry experts for sessions devoted to putting more of the right plants in the hands of the public, and ensuring they thrive long after they are planted.

On day two, we break it down and get in the weeds with tracks specific to your professional needs and interests. Follow one track all day, or feel free to pick and choose the sessions that best suit your needs.

Growers will cover a variety of topics, from what you need to know about cannabis in the industry to HR and labor issues. For the Landscape Architects, we've teamed up with ASLA Illinois to create a track for that will meet your continuing education needs while learning about successful native gardens, sustainable practices, and more.

On both days, we offer irrigation training, presented by Hunter Industries, to help irrigation contractors satisfy the continuing education requirements required by Section 892 of Illinois Plumbing code.
