ICN Professional of the Year

Each year, IGIA identifies an outstanding Illinois Certified Nursery Professional of the Year. That person volunteers their time to serve members of the Illinois Green Industry Association, gets involved in their community to promote our industry's cause, and goes above and beyond in the industry to educate others, support customers, and more. We honor the recipient of this award at InVigorateU in January.

Shannon is the Marketing Manager at Midwest Groundcovers, directing Marketing strategy, assisting in website development, and leading the charge for customer events.

She has a great passion for plants and is enthusiastic about sharing that passion with others. Shannon currently serves on the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association Awards Committee. She is on the Board of Directors for the Perennial Plant Association Board and serves as their Treasurer. She is on the advisory board for the Horticulture Department at College of DuPage, and has just completed a term on the Board of Directors for the Midwest Invasive Plant Network. She was even on the speaker lineup for our landscape professionals at InVigorateU in January 2022. Shannon has a long history of being involved and giving back to our industry.
